About This Spot
Stepping into the KFC on de la Sallestraat in Oranjestad feels like slipping into a familiar, bustling corner of island life where rhythms slow just enough to savor simple pleasures. This casual local eatery hums with the quiet energy of travelers and locals alike, drawn by the unmistakable scent of spiced fried chicken and warm corn on the cob, echoing the laid-back mood of Aruba itself.
The space is straightforward and clean, a friendly nod to the worldwide KFC experience but infused with touches of the island’s warmth. Behind the counter, welcoming staff offer serene smiles that remind you hospitality is just as much about feeling at ease as it is about the food. Patience is part of the charm here—service moves at a gentle pace, giving you a moment to breathe in the casual atmosphere and watch the steady flow of customers sharing quick bites and conversations.
Beyond the iconic bucket and crispy chicken, meals come alive with sides that feel like handpicked companions—a freshly grilled corn on the cob, salty fries, or a soft chicken sandwich that wraps comfort in a bun. Those little moments of discovery, like choosing to finish with a sweet Helado, make it clear that this isn’t just fast food, but a snapshot of local rhythms and tastes meeting familiar favorites.
Welcoming enough to invite multiple visits during a stay, this KFC stands as more than just a pit stop. It’s a pause — a chance to connect with both locals and visitors under the easy glow of Aruba’s sun and kindness, where the Colonel’s smile offers a moment of shared familiarity amid the unfolding stories of the island.

Tasha was absolutely delightful! I visited this location twice while I was on the island, and each time she was so friendly and welcoming.

Really nice KFC. No coffee. No honey or jelly for the biscuits. Service was slow. But other than that, food was great and restaurant was clean.

It’s only 15 minutes’ walk from the cruise port. Turn left at the cruise port and walk a little bit inside and further left. There’s a big KFC bucket with colonel’s face high up and you can see it from a distance. Right now Dec 2023 the exchange is $US1 to 1.70 local. You can pay in US bills. They will give you back local $ change. The coins look amazing. I don’t mind to keep some of them as souvenirs. As expected the wait is long. This is the only fried chicken fast food in the area. (There’s a Taco Bell close by). We go to KFC in every island. Interestingly there’s a small playscaoe for kids. Quite clean. There’s free wifi. Ask the cashier for password to “KFC Playa”. For a 2 piece combo with fries and drink it’s around 8.50 US. IT’S not the new seasoned fries so it’s good as I don’t like the seasoned fries. Chicken skin is crispy and nice but the meat is weird but it can just be me.

It's like any other KFC I've been to but I can say that this store has the best fried chicken out of all of them. The service is very slow so be patient and the atmosphere is dependent on what day and what time of the day you go. Also go for the spicy chicken
